Design on a Dime
Living in Barbados we are often inspired by international television, watching HGTV or Dream Home Makeover by Studio Mcgee on Netflix. In addition, there are endless influencers on Instagram who show us how to do the look for less, but in Barbados it seems overwhelming or impossible to create the look locally without access to the same products foe next day delivery by simply shopping with the click of a button online.
Enter the stunning Ayshford project. A very special project that is near and dear to the heart, as this was a Barbadian owner with a realistic Barbadian budget. This client knew what she wanted and had built a detailed Pinterest board to prove it. Modern but comfortable, stylish yet homey – a look that was worthy of gracing any magazine – but with a firm budget which meant we had to create the look for less.
The client was all about open plan living. She loves to cook and wanted her kitchen space to be as beautiful as her living and dining space so that her friends and family could all enjoy. Dramatic lighting and stylish counter stools complemented the stunning finishes of this modern farmhouse kitchen. The central dining table with statement chandelier then married the kitchen to the living space.
The Media wall sets the stage for the living room. As it was such a focal wall, it was important to create an art piece in the wall itself, so that the television was not an eyesore. A huge wrap around sectional with contemporary lines in a dramatic gray was practical for day to day living and the accessories tied everything together.
However, the winner for this room, was the conversation area with the bar. The perfect girlfriends hangout overlooking the pool and the gully below with a glass of wine in hand– what more could a girl ask for?!
Master Bedroom Retreat
Make me a room that would be hotel approved and spa worthy! Calming neutral tones with hints of glam make this a sexy and serene space that anyone would be lucky to come home to.
Her Heartstrings
A main goal of this project was always to make sure her girls were involved with every detail and approved every space. She wanted her kids to be excited with the move and happy with their space. They were always priority and their bedrooms are the proof! Stylish and cool, comfortable and practical – We got the tween stamp of approval!
