Job Title: Seasonal Retail Sales Associate 
Organisation: Dwellings Group - Barbados 
Location: Millhouse, Canewood, St Michael, Barbados  
Reports To: Store Manager 

Job Description  

To provide customers with a unique shopping experience by utilizing excellent customer service, effective selling techniques and providing in-depth product knowledge in a fast-paced, specialty retail environment. 

 Essential Functions 

1. Ensure monthly sales targets are met or exceeded. 
2. Greet and welcome customers to the store with enthusiasm. 
3. Determine and understand customer needs by asking open-ended questions.  
4. Explain product features and benefits, while addressing customer needs. 
5. Utilize selling skills to identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional products and services based on the clients' preferences and needs. 
6. Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and maintain comprehensive product knowledge including features, benefits, and pricing, to make informed recommendations. 
7. Follow through on special orders and customer requests. 
8. Maintain proper display on the shop floor including accurate signage and pricing and regular cleaning, straightening, and dusting.  
9. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process sales transactions, handle cash, credit card and cheque payments, and issue receipts. Additionally, either gift-wrap or package items to avoid breakage or damage. 
10. Regularly provide feedback to store manager on customer’s reaction to merchandise and store. 
11. Actively participate in and assist with special events such as registry workshops and product showcases, within the workplace, at external locations as required. 
12. Additional duties that may be assigned as necessary and reasonably expected within the scope of the position. 

 Requirements 

1. Completion of Secondary School with (5) CXC passes. 
2. 1-2 years customer service and retail sales experience preferred. 
3. Possession of valid Police Certificate of Character. 
4. Demonstrates high motivation and a target-driven mindset. 
5. Pleasant demeanor, confident with customers 
6. Ability to communicate and work well with team members.  
7. Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time. 
8. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends (including Sundays), and/or holidays including the entire holiday season (December), as required by the business. 
9. Must be able to maintain compliance with Company dress codes, policies, and procedures.  
10. Ability to lift and carry medium to large items several feet, weighing up to 75lbs, while utilizing appropriate equipment.
